AR T SQU E S T A N N UA L RESIDENT ARTISTS' EXHIBITION over the 18 years that banana factory arts center has been in existence, nearly 80 Resident Artists have created within these studios. The sharing of ideas, techniques, and inspiration is a daily occurrence here, and the influence that comes from working within an artist community is immeasurable. Banana Factory Resident Artists are educators, many of whom teach classes to students of all ages; exhibitors, showing their work locally, regionally, and nationally; innovators, challenging traditional views of art and process; award-winners, recognized internationally for their skills; and entrepreneurs, selling their art in new ways and formats. As the SouthSide of Bethlehem grows and changes during the coming years, it will be the artists living and working in this community who will shape it into the arts and cultural district it is envisioned to be. Very few would have thought that a center of industry and business would have become a breeding ground for artists and performers of all kinds, but that is exactly what is happening. What an exciting time to be a Resident Artist, and what an exciting time to witness their impact. We hope you enjoy and appreciate the amazing works of the Resident Artists included in this exhibition, and come back frequently to meet and celebrate these artists living in our community.
